Accompanist - Bassist

**Overview:** The Ensemble Department is seeking a skilled bassist to accompany students in ensemble classes, serving as part of the "house band" for regularly scheduled classes and additional accompanying assignments for recitals, concerts, auditions, and special events. **Responsibilities:** • Act as "house band" for regularly scheduled Ensemble Department classes • Participate in Ensemble and/or additional rehearsals • Accompany Visiting Artists' concerts, clinics, and workshops • Assist students and faculty during class time • Some nights/weekends may be required • *Qualifications:** • Bachelor's Degree in Music (preferred, but not required) • Strong musical background in a wide range of styles • Excellent musicianship, especially the ability to groove • Background in all Contemporary styles • Complete technical command of the instrument • Sensitive to the needs of vocalists • Cultivate a supportive learning environment • Promote a climate of respect for personal and cultural differences • Value ethical behavior in all aspects of personal and professional life • Are self-critical, questioning, and committed to personal excellence and self-improvement • Demonstrate a willingness to take on big challenges and see them through • *Benefits:** • Opportunity to work with students and faculty in a dynamic and creative environment • Collaborative and supportive team culture • Competitive compensation and benefits package • Professional development and growth opportunities • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and equal employment opportunity
