Description Job Title: Accounts Receivable – School Services Location: In-person | Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM Department: School Services Reports To: Director of School Services / Controller Saied Music Company was founded in 1946 by a band director and remains a family-owned business deeply committed to music education. For nearly 80 years, we’ve proudly partnered with schools, families, and communities across our region to provide high-quality instruments, personalized service, and long-standing support for student musicians. Position Overview The Accounts Receivable – School Services role is a full-time, in-person position responsible for managing billing, tracking, and payment follow-up for all school accounts. Our school partners often purchase through bids, require purchase order (PO) numbers, or need special approval arrangements. Key Responsibilities - Maintain billing records for all school accounts, ensuring accuracy with PO numbers, bid pricing, and delivery confirmation - Track “on approval” product placements and follow up for POs before invoicing - Run and review daily AR and aging reports; identify past-due accounts - Proactively follow up with band directors, school AP departments, and internal road reps to resolve obstacles to payment - Confirm all billing aligns with school-specific requirements and approval processes - Ensure deliveries are signed for and documented appropriately for invoicing support - Collaborate with the leadership team and road reps to improve communication and close billing gaps - Maintain a professional yet friendly tone when following up with schools and internal teams Benefits - Competitive compensation - Stable full-time weekday schedule - Health & wellness benefits - A mission-driven work environment that supports school music and community engagement Job Type: Full-time Benefits: - 401(k) matching - Employee discount - Health insurance - Paid time off Schedule: - 8 hour shift - Monday to Friday Qualifications What We’re Looking For - Strong leadership skills with the ability to self-start, stay organized, and work independently while ensuring tasks are initiated and completed - Excellent customer service skills, including professional phone and in-person communication - A positive, encouraging presence — someone who genuinely enjoys helping people and supporting their musical journeys - Musical background preferred — especially experience in band or orchestra - Comfort and fluency with computers is essential — we use a robust ERP system to manage school accounts and billing, and we’ll provide full training - A natural multi-tasker who thrives in a collaborative, small-team environment The Ideal Candidate - Balances accuracy and people skills — can track down a missing PO without harming the relationship - Understands the flow of school purchasing and the nuances of school billing cycles - Isn’t afraid to pick up the phone or follow up multiple times — but always with empathy and tact - Loves the idea of being part of a team that supports music education in real, tangible ways
