In alignment with the Atlanta Music Project (AMP) mission, the AMP Academy Teaching Artists will be responsible for the individual teaching and development of AMP Academy students. About the Atlanta Music Project Founded in 2010, the Atlanta Music Project provides world-class music training supporting youth growth and development. AMP’s young musicians have successfully auditioned for Georgia All-State ensembles, and performed with the Atlanta Opera, the Atlanta Ballet, and the Fox Theatre. & Phyllis Katz Foundation, the Harland Charitable Foundation, the Arthur M. Blank Foundation, Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs, Fulton County Arts Council, Georgia Council for the Arts, Georgia Music Foundation and the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta. Learn, understand and represent the AMP philosophies for uplifting youths, families and communities through the pursuit of musical excellence Teach private lessons to AMP Academy students Liaise with parents/families of AMP Academy students Coordinate and cooperate with the Associate Director of AMP Academy in keeping track of AMP students’ attendance and musical progress Execute additional administrative tasks as necessary Ideal candidate will possess: A Bachelor and/or Master of Music (preferred) Passion for music as a vehicle to empower youth Exemplary teaching ability for elementary, middle and high school students Exemplary music performance ability/experience Experience working (music-related or other) with disadvantaged, urban/rural youth is a plus Ability to inspire, work with and mentor youths Excellent inter-personal skills and be comfortable working in a team Ability to adapt, be flexible and have a sense of humor Notes: The AMP Academy Teaching Artist is a part-time, hourly ($52 to $65/hour commensurate with experience) position starting in August 2025.
