Role Description Applied Music Teachers at Bach to Rock Powell provide individualized and small-group instruction in their primary instrument, with a focus on piano and general music skills. In this part-time, on-site role in Powell, OH, teachers plan and deliver lesson content, introduce and reinforce core music theory, and guide students in technique, repertoire, and performance skills. Responsibilities include assessing student progress, preparing learners for recitals and performances, maintaining clear communication with families, and documenting attendance and lesson notes. Teachers collaborate with the school’s staff to support a positive learning environment and may participate in recitals, workshops, and other school events.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess skills in Music Theory and general Music understanding to support structured, progressive instruction.Candidates should possess skills in Music Performance to demonstrate techniques, model best practices, and prepare students for recitals.Candidates should possess skills in Music Education, including lesson planning, classroom management, and age-appropriate teaching strategies.Candidates should possess skills in Piano to teach applied lessons, coach technique, and guide students through varied repertoire.Prior teaching or tutoring experience in music, especially with children and teens, is beneficial.Strong communication, patience, and the ability to motivate learners with diverse backgrounds and skill levels are important.Availability for after-school hours and weekends, as well as reliable on-site presence in Powell, OH, is required.A degree in Music, Music Education, or related field, or equivalent professional experience, is preferred.
