Assistant Band Director, Woodwind Specialist

Part-Time Position with Education Through Music-Colorado (ETM-CO) About the Position ETM-CO is seeking a Woodwind Specialist to serve as Assistant Band Director alongside the current Band Director/Brass Specialist at two Denver schools. Lesson planning is required and will be reviewed on a regular basis. Teach a standards-based music curriculum to students in ways that are relevant and appropriately rigorous Engage diverse learners and cultivate a classroom environment that supports students’ social-emotional needs Collaborate with the Band Director/Brass Specialist to grow and strengthen the band program Maintain instrument inventories and coordinate repairs as needed Plan and produce one concert or performance per semester at each school Engage in a regular process of lesson planning, feedback, revision, and goal-setting Collaborate with ETM-CO staff, school administrators, and parents Build relationships with students and families, inviting them as partners in their music education Bachelor’s degree in Music, Education, or Fine Arts Proficiency in musical literacy and performance on woodwind instruments Excellent communication skills and comfort working with students, parents, and school staff Commitment to culturally responsive teaching, equity, and inclusive music education
