Assistant Conductor

Cambridge Chamber Singers (CCS) is a distinguished choral ensemble in Greater Boston, presenting diverse and innovative concert programs that span from classical masterpieces to contemporary compositions. This is a temporary on-site role, based in Boston, MA, for an Assistant Conductor with the Cambridge Chamber Singers. The Assistant Conductor will collaborate closely with the Musical Director to plan and lead rehearsals, assist in the selection and preparation of repertoire, and provide feedback to choir members. Conduct one Thursday evening rehearsal per month, at MIT from 7:15 - 9:45 PM. Qualifications • Strong conducting skills, rehearsal techniques, and ability to lead a choir of mixed abilities • Knowledge of diverse choral repertoire, including classical, contemporary, and traditional works • Musical interpretation skills and experience in vocal techniques and care • Effective communication and collaboration abilities for working with both the Musical Director and choir members • Experience with artistic planning, score preparation, and organizational tasks • A degree in music or equivalent experience is highly preferred • Previous experience in choral conducting or assisting roles is advantageous • A passion for fostering an inclusive and dynamic artistic environment
