Assistant Director of Bands

Job DescriptionAccountability: The Assistant Director of Bands reports to the Director of Bands. The University Marching Band serves as an integral part of campus life at Mississippi Valley State University. Referred to as “The Mean Green Marching Machine,” the Marching Band performs at all home football games and halftime shows. In addition to football games, the band performs at university and community events, as well as receiving personal invitations to various marching band parades, competitions, and exhibitions. The University Pep Band performs at various athletic events at the request of the Athletics Department.General Statement of Duties (Band Operations): The Assistant Director of Bands is responsible for arranging music, field show design, and recruiting music while supporting the various band activities in collaboration with the Director of Bands.
