Eastern Michigan University School of Music & Dance invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment in Music Theory (with the potential to teach in a secondary area) at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning Fall 2026. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise and leadership in music theory and analysis, an ability to engage a diverse student body in a range of theoretical perspectives and repertoires, and be accomplished in a secondary area (such as composition, an applied instrument, or another professional area that supports music studies at Eastern Michigan University). Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Music Theory and related areas. Required Materials: Note: Candidates should clearly articulate the qualifications they possess in filling each of the job duties and responsibilities in their letter of interest, including any secondary areas.
