Tenure-Track Faculty Position College of Arts and Letters Position: Department of Music Assistant Professor of Music – Director of Bands Starting Date: January, 2024 Minimum Qualifications: An earned DMA or Ph.D. in Music, Conducting, or a closely-related area with a specialization in wind band conducting from an accredited institution (or equivalent) is required; however, applicants nearing completion of the doctorate (ABD) may be considered. Primary responsibilities will include directing the University Wind Ensemble; teaching and mentoring conducting students at the undergraduate and graduate level; and teaching additional courses contingent upon candidate’s expertise, interests, and department needs. In addition, the successful candidate will be ready to join faculty, staff, students, and administrators in our University’s shared commitment to the principles of engagement, service, and the public good.
