Assistant Professor of Practice in Contemporary Guitar

The University of Miami’s Frost School of Music is accepting applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Professional Practice (Non-Tenure Track) position in Contemporary Guitar beginning with the 2026-27 academic year. Additional teaching duties may be assigned based on the applicant's skillset and background. Responsibilities • Teaching Contemporary Guitar instructional lessons • Directing live and recording ensembles focused on original music • Teaching sophomore and junior level musicianship skills courses • Participate in juries, auditions and recruiting activities • Equivalent professional experience may be given equal consideration in lieu of a degree. • Classroom teaching experience at the collegiate level is highly desirable.
