Associate Director of Bands

The Department of Music in the College of Fine Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Lowell invites applications for a full-time, Associate Director of Bands position to begin July 2026. Minimum Qualifications (Required): Master’s degree, with a principal instrument in woodwinds, brass, or percussionExperience teaching bands at the University levelProficiency in marching band techniquesExcellent communication skills, ability to meet the public wellManagement & Administrative experience: responsibilities include scheduling, transportation for large groups, personnel management, student managementExperience in Music and/or Fine Arts student recruitment.Knowledge of high school music programs in the region,Preferred Qualifications: Only Internal Professional (SEIU 888 Professional Union) Bargaining candidates will be considered during the first 10 business days of the posting. This position is a full-time, benefited and SEIU union position in grade P21.
