Associate Manager of Direct Response & Communications

Confidential Modesto, California

SFCM loves to be at the center of good things happening in classical music: attracting the most creative musicians; students and alums doing incredible work ranging from landing positions at the world’s top ensembles, to working at the intersection of music and technology in Silicon Valley, to starting their own organizations and even going to medical school; and offering additional programs locally and nationally like the Pre-College curriculum, the Rubin Institute for Music Criticism, and the new Center for Innovative Leadership. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of both the Advancement and Marketing and Communications teams. It’s a place where you can be a part of our transformation with a new capital project underway scheduled to open in Fall 2020, be a critical team member in a growing fundraising operation and work with our patrons while being surrounded by music and inspired by students. With students at the center of everything SFCM does, we’re seeking someone who is an expert in direct response and thinks like a marketeer to lead our acquisition campaigns and inspire donors and patrons to join in SFCM’s transformation. * Plan, manage, and execute direct response campaigns for the Advancement team, including a multi-channel annual giving program that meets revenue goals for this program and appeals supporting SFCM’s endowment campaign * Collaborate with the Database/Prospecting Associate Manager on list pulls for all direct mail campaigns * Develop and execute a program for recurring giving * Collaborate with Advancement colleagues to develop goals, strategies and messages for constituent segments and reports to measure progress to goal, as well as build a pipeline of new donors * Working closely with members of the Advancement team, develop and implement engagement strategies to build a base of new supporters for SFCM, including creating an acquisition pathway from patron to donor * Serve as the primary point of contact for giving to SFCM and provide exceptional customer service to donors on an ongoing basis * Manage distribution of multi-channel appeals including building and sending email blasts with a direct response component
