Job Summary The musicians at Edina Community Lutheran Church enhance worship through diverse and imaginative music, assisting the pastors in planning and leading our liturgy guided by the traditions of the ELCA. The Associate Music Director is primarily responsible for leading worship with a liturgy ensemble (“The Band”) which consists of a group of dedicated volunteer vocalists and instrumentalists including guitar, drums, bass, keyboard, flute, accordion, etc. The Associate is expected to lead worship 25-30 Sundays each year. This position reports to the pastors and works in a collaborative relationship with the Music Director (who leads the choir, plays the organ, and also leads innovative and creative worship) as well as the Worship, Art, and Music Committee in order to ensure that worship is centered on the Gospel, justice, and hospitality to all. ○ Arrange service music, songs, and hymns for a variety of instruments and skill levels.
