Band Director

OVERVIEW: • Provide music instruction on Band instruments for students from 4th- 8th-grades • Prepare for performances for Concert Band, Pep Band, and Marching Band throughout the school year • Develop and maintain Band Music Library • Inventory, repair and purchase instruments and related equipment for use in the Band program • Inventory, repair and purchase other equipment necessary for use in the Band program including chairs, music stands, sound equipment, uniforms, etc. These are usually 4th-grade students, but older students without prior band experience may join and possibly move up to their grade level when skills are sufficiently developed. • Provide graded instruction for 7th-and 8th Advanced Band 3 days each week during the school day. This class takes the place of General Music at the Junior High level and is a graded course. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: • K-12 Music certification • Band experience as a long-term (through college-level) student or director • Strong communication and organizational skills
