ESI is seeking a Band Director for middle and high school grades who is responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering lesson plans that facilitate active learning, participating in all required school meetings, as well as communicating with parents/guardians in relation to the needs of the students. • Must have a clear testimony of personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior • Must be able to demonstrate active membership and involvement in an evangelical local church • Bachelor Degree from accredited college or university required • Masters Degree preferred • Possession of a Florida Educator Certification or Statement of Status of Eligibility is preferred • Prior Teaching Experience leading a Middle School or High School Band program is preferred • Must have instrumental involvement and experience leading instrumental groups • Must be a skilled musician with proficiency in multiple instruments. • Completes appropriate musical selection, facility requests, communication to Band families, transportation requests, rehearsal schedule, program needs, and technology needs for event • Oversee Fall Band Concert & Homecoming Pep Rally (in collaboration with HS Administration), HS Christmas Concert (in collaboration with MS/HS Choir & Theatre Director and HS Art Teacher), MS Christmas Concert (in collaboration with MS/HS Choir & Theater Director, and MS Art Teacher), and MS & HS Spring Concerts (in collaboration with MS/HS Choir Director and MS/HS Art Teachers) • Provide performance opportunities within the school and community to raise awareness and enjoyment of the performance arts program at JCS e.g. Music USA Festival or Festival • Teach 5 sections representing a combination Middle School Band (5th – 8th) and High School Band (9th – 12th) • Collaborate with MS principal and preparing musical selections for the following schoolwide events: Veterans Day • Provide weekly lesson plans from a Biblical lens and with clear objectives and rehearsal strategies • Apply a variety of instructional techniques and musical repertoire appropriate for the ages and skill level of students • Evaluate student performance and growth in knowledge and understanding while preparing regular progress reports and grades.
