Band Director / Instrumental Music

Job Summary The Band Director / Instrumental Music Instructor is responsible for the direction of the Philharmonic Orchestra, Concert Band, Strings and Orchestra, Wind Studies, and Jazz Studies programs in order to establish a creative, challenging, and nurturing environment that offers students unparalleled preparation for higher education and a profession in the arts. Duties and Responsibilities : Collaborates with arts instructors / directors to develop a strategic plan for continued conservatory growth Communicates effectively with parents, students, faculty, and colleagues Develops and oversees curriculum and assessments for the Instrumental Music conservatory Teaches various courses in the conservatory program Participates in school meetings and professional development activities Organizes and conducts the student selection process Develops and manages Instrumental Music recruitment initiatives Conducts open house presentations for prospective students and parents Oversees all aspects of Instrumental Music events, productions, and performances Manages community outreach, special projects, arts partnerships, and guest artist relationships Develops and manages Instrumental Music fundraising activities Manages Instrumental Music budget and administration Actively performs at a professional level in area of expertise and participates in professional music or music education organizations
