Band Program Manager

Assistant Director of Bands Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Bands to join our team. The successful candidate will assist the Director of Bands with leading and managing the university band program, including recruiting members, coordinating events, and fundraising. Key Responsibilities: • Assist the Director of Bands with direction of both athletic and concert ensembles • Coordinate and facilitate the operations of the university band program • Hire, train, and schedule student workers • Serve as liaison with various campus offices • Manage data on sophomore proficiencies, senior recitals, faculty jury feedback, and similar data needs • Run the weekly Recital Attendance for Music majors and minors • Coordinate and facilitate all travel-related band operations • Assist with large events such as Tigerpalooza, OSSAA State Band Contest, Pre-State Clinic and Performance, ECOBDA Honor Band, Day As A Music Major, guest artists, and other events on campus that involve the Department of Performing Arts • Assist with fundraising projects for the band program • Travel throughout the state and region to recruit for the ECU Bands • Fill in for the Director of Bands when needed at rehearsals and sporting events Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in music (Masters degree in music may have the option of additionally teaching courses as an adjunct based around the area of specialty of the candidate) • Experience at either the Secondary or University level leading or assisting with a band program that includes a marching band • Detail oriented • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines • Able to communicate effectively and build rapport with students, faculty and staff
