Catholic Music Director

Position Summary

Ladgov Corporation is seeking a qualified Catholic Music Director to provide professional music ministry support for Catholic worship services at Maxwell Air Force Base. The selected candidate will direct the Catholic choir, conduct rehearsals, select appropriate liturgical music, and support regular Masses and special Catholic services.

Work Schedule

Wednesday Choir Rehearsal: 6:30 PM – 8:00 PMSaturday Mass: 4:30 PM – 6:30 PMSunday Mass: 8:30 AM – 10:30 AMAdditional services may include Holy Days, funerals, First Communion, Confirmation, Advent, Lent, and other Catholic activities

Responsibilities

Direct weekly choir rehearsals and Catholic Mass musicSelect music appropriate to the Catholic Liturgical CalendarConduct choir warm-ups before servicesRecruit, organize, and train choir members and musiciansCoordinate music selections with the Catholic PriestProvide solo or accompanied vocal music when requiredSet up and maintain microphones, music stands, risers, and related equipmentOperate the chapel sound system as neededSupport special services, funerals, and other approved Catholic eventsProvide a qualified substitute when unavailableSubmit required monthly activity reports and participate in scheduled Catholic Pastoral Council meetings

Minimum Qualifications

At least 5 years of experience directing choirs for Catholic MassesKnowledge of Catholic liturgy, hymns, and seasonal worship musicAbility to direct different styles of Catholic musicStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to speak, read, write, and understand EnglishAbility to pass required background screening and obtain Maxwell AFB accessReliable transportation and availability for the required schedule

Preferred Qualifications

Experience as a Catholic cantor or instrumentalistAbility to play an instrument while directing a choirAbility to sight-read music and accompany vocalistsBachelor's degree in Music, Catholic Liturgy, Religious Studies, or a related fieldPrevious military chapel or Catholic ministry experience
