Catholic Musician

Duties: Provide musical accompaniment for Catholic Masses, liturgies, and special servicesPlay piano or organ for congregational singing, choir performances, and other musical elements during worshipCollaborate with the Catholic Music Director and Catholic Priest to select appropriate liturgical musicAttend and participate in weekly choir rehearsalsAccompany special liturgical celebrations, including Christmas, Easter, Holy Days of Obligation, weddings, and sacramental ceremoniesAssist in maintaining a high standard of musical quality, ensuring a prayerful and reverent worship experiencePrepare prelude, offertory, and postlude music that aligns with the liturgical calendar and Mass structureComply with copyright laws when selecting and performing musicMaintain the chapel’s musical instruments, ensuring proper care and usage Requirements: Strong familiarity with Catholic liturgical music, traditions, and worship practicesProficiency in playing piano and/or organ, with the ability to sight-read, transpose, and develop musical accompanimentMinimum of two years of experience as an accompanist in a Catholic church or similar settingAbility to collaborate with choir directors, clergy, and other musicians to enhance the worship experience Powered by JazzHR
