Responsibilities

Develop customized lesson plans that align with each student’s skill level, goals, and learning style, incorporating curriculum development best practices.Conduct engaging private and group cello lessons for students across various age groups, from early childhood to adult learners.Manage classroom dynamics effectively, ensuring a positive, respectful environment conducive to learning and creativity.Utilize experience working with children and youth programs to create age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development and behavior management.Assess student progress regularly through performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback to motivate improvement.Collaborate with parents, guardians, or program coordinators to discuss student development, lesson adjustments, and upcoming performances or recitals.Serve as a substitute for our Orchestra Teacher during Saturday lessons as need.Skills

Strong background in teaching music with specialization in creative arts instruction and instrumental performance on the cello.Proven experience in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management within arts education settings.Ability to manage behavior effectively while fostering a supportive learning environment for students of diverse backgrounds.Knowledge of childhood development theories and special education strategies to accommodate individual learning needs.Skills in tutoring, adult education, or specialized arts instruction such as sewing or culinary arts are considered valuable assets.This role is ideal for energetic educators who thrive on inspiring creativity through music and the arts while building meaningful connections with students.
