Position Overview
AMB is seeking a skilled and adaptable Chapel Organist / Pianist to provide musical accompaniment for religious services at a Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The role supports both Catholic and Protestant worship services, as well as additional ceremonies as requested.
The selected candidate will play a critical role in enhancing the spiritual experience of veterans and their families through high-quality musical performance.
Key Responsibilities
Provide live musical accompaniment for:Sunday Catholic Mass (approx. 8:30 AM)Sunday Protestant Service (approx. 10:00 AM)Support additional services, ceremonies, or special events as scheduledPerform a wide range of religious music across multiple denominationsCoordinate with Chaplain staff to prepare hymns and music selections (provided in advance)Adapt performance style based on service requirements and chaplain directionMaintain professionalism and respect within a healthcare and religious environmentRequired Qualifications
Proficiency in piano and/or organ performanceStrong keyboard technique and musical theory knowledgeAbility to perform Catholic and Protestant liturgical musicSkilled in:Sight-readingImprovisationVocal accompanimentUnderstanding of acoustics in worship spacesAbility to follow direction and adapt to different service stylesWork Schedule
Regular:Sundays (2 services weekly)Additional:Weekdays, weekends, or holidays as needed (scheduled at least 3 days in advance)Security & Compliance Requirements
