Church Choir Director/Musician

Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Church Choir Director/Musician to lead and inspire our congregational music ministry. This vital role combines musical expertise with leadership and teaching skills to foster a vibrant worship environment. The Choir Director/Musician will coordinate choir rehearsals, select appropriate music, and perform during services, ensuring that music enhances the spiritual experience for all attendees. Duties

Lead weekly choir rehearsals, fostering a positive and collaborative environment for singers of all skill levels
Select, arrange, and rehearse music that aligns with liturgical themes and enhances worship services
Perform as the primary musician during church services, providing inspiring musical accompaniment or vocal performances
Mentor choir members by offering constructive feedback, teaching vocal techniques, and encouraging spiritual growth through music
Collaborate with clergy and worship team members to plan service flow and musical selections
Organize special musical events, seasonal concerts, and community outreach performances
Maintain the choir’s repertoire, manage scheduling, and oversee the recruitment of new choir members

Requirements

Proven experience in conducting or leading church choirs or musical groups
Strong proficiency in playing keyboard instruments (piano or organ) or other relevant instruments
Excellent communication skills to effectively teach, motivate, and mentor choir members
Demonstrated leadership abilities with a passion for inspiring others through music
Knowledge of diverse musical styles suitable for worship settings
Ability to work collaboratively with clergy, staff, and congregation members
Teaching experience is preferred to help develop choir members’ vocal skills and confidence
