Duties

Lead and coordinate congregational singing during worship services, ensuring a lively and engaging atmosphere
Select, rehearse, and perform a variety of musical pieces that align with the church’s spiritual themes and liturgical calendar
Collaborate with pastors, choir directors, and other worship team members to plan musical segments for services and special events
Manage and maintain musical equipment, including instruments, microphones, and sound systems to ensure optimal performance quality
Organize rehearsals for choir or instrumental groups to prepare for upcoming services or events
Incorporate elements of theater or theatrical techniques when appropriate to enhance the worship experience and audience engagement
Foster a welcoming environment for musicians of all skill levels and encourage active participation in worship activities

Requirements

Proven experience in church or community music settings, with strong leadership skills
Proficiency in playing at least one musical instrument; additional skills in vocal performance or conducting are highly desirable
Knowledge of various musical genres, including contemporary, traditional, and theatrical styles (such as theater)
Ability to read sheet music and adapt arrangements as needed
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with church staff and congregation members
Flexibility to adapt to different service formats, special events, and seasonal themes
A positive attitude with a passion for inspiring others through music and worship
