Church Musician

Responsibilities • Lead congregational singing during worship services, ensuring an energetic and inclusive atmosphere • Collaborate with pastors and worship leaders to select appropriate music that aligns with the service theme • Arrange and rehearse musical pieces, incorporating various styles including contemporary, traditional, and theatrical elements when suitable • Coordinate with choir members, instrumentalists, and volunteers to ensure smooth musical execution • Maintain and organize musical instruments, sound equipment, and sheet music for optimal performance quality • Foster a welcoming environment for new musicians and volunteers interested in joining the worship team • Adapt music arrangements as needed to accommodate different service formats or special events • Requirements - You must be able to "flow" with the service, reacting to spontaneous musical moments or "vamps" led by the Minister of Music. - Must be able to play by ear - You must be able to play spontaneously under a sermon (talk music), during transitions, and in response to the "move of the spirit" or a worship leader's cues. - lead keyboardist/organist serves as the "Lead Musician," guiding the drummer and bassist to ensure a unified sound.
