Responsibilities

Lead congregational singing by playing the piano, organ, or other musical instruments during worship services and eventsCollaborate with pastors and worship leaders to select appropriate music that aligns with the liturgical calendar and sermon themesArrange or adapt musical pieces to suit the congregation’s musical abilities and preferencesRehearse regularly with choir members or instrumentalists to ensure cohesive performancesMaintain and organize musical equipment, sheet music, and sound systems for optimal performance qualityFoster an inclusive and encouraging environment for musicians of all skill levels to participate in worship activitiesSupport special services such as weddings, funerals, holiday celebrations, and community outreach events with musical leadershipExperience

Proven experience in leading church or community musical groups, with a strong background in vocal or instrumental performanceFamiliarity with various musical genres relevant to worship settings, including contemporary, traditional, or gospel stylesKnowledge of music theory, arrangement techniques, and hymnody is highly desirableExperience working with diverse age groups and skill levels to promote participation and engagementAbility to read sheet music fluently and adapt arrangements as neededPrior experience using sound equipment or basic audio mixing is a plusSkills in theater or stage presence are advantageous for engaging congregations and creating lively worship experiencesThis paid role provides a fulfilling opportunity to share your musical gifts while making a meaningful impact on our faith community.
