Duties

Lead and coordinate congregational singing during worship services, ensuring an engaging and reverent atmosphere
Select, rehearse, and perform a diverse repertoire of sacred music that aligns with the church’s liturgical calendar and themes
Collaborate with pastors and worship leaders to plan musical elements for sermons, special events, and seasonal celebrations
Manage sound equipment, microphones, and musical instruments to ensure optimal audio quality during services
Recruit, train, and support volunteer musicians and choir members to foster a cohesive music ministry team
Arrange music for choir or ensemble performances when needed, incorporating various musical styles including theater-inspired pieces
Maintain an organized schedule for rehearsals and performances, ensuring timely preparation for each service

Experience

Proven experience leading live musical performances in a church or similar setting
Strong proficiency with keyboard instruments (piano or organ) and vocal skills; additional instrumental expertise is a plus
Familiarity with sound equipment operation and basic audio mixing techniques
Experience working with diverse musical styles, including theater or show tunes, is highly desirable
Ability to work collaboratively with clergy, staff, volunteers, and congregation members in a respectful and motivating manner
Knowledge of liturgical practices and the ability to adapt music selections accordingly
