\nRole Description This is a full-time, on-site Church Musician role based in Lansing, MI.

The Church
Musician will plan and lead music for worship services, rehearsals, and special events, coordinating with pastoral staff and ministry leaders to support the church’s worship vision. Daily responsibilities include preparing and arranging music, rehearsing with choirs, praise teams, and instrumentalists, and accompanying congregational singing on primary instruments (such as keyboard, organ, or piano). The role also involves selecting appropriate music for various services, maintaining musical equipment and resources, and fostering a positive, inclusive environment for volunteers and music team members.

The Church
Musician is expected to be present for regular weekly services, rehearsals, and seasonal programs, and to participate in staff meetings and ministry planning as needed.

\n Qualifications

\n Strong proficiency on at least one primary instrument commonly used in worship (e.g., keyboard, organ, piano), with the ability to read music and/or play by ear.\n Experience planning and leading church or worship music, including coordinating with choirs, praise teams, and instrumentalists.\n Knowledge of gospel, contemporary Christian, hymns, and other worship music styles appropriate for a Baptist church setting.\n Ability to arrange and adapt music for different ensembles and skill levels, and to conduct or direct rehearsals effectively.\n Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills to work with pastoral staff, volunteers, and congregants in a respectful and supportive manner.\n Reliable time management and organization skills, with the ability to prepare music and services in advance and meet weekly commitments.\n Comfort using basic technology and sound equipment (e.g., microphones, audio systems, digital instruments) in a worship context.\n Demonstrated commitment to Christian values and a willingness to support the mission and vision of Paradise Missionary Baptist Church.\n Prior experience as a church musician or worship leader is highly beneficial\n
