SummaryThe Musician is responsible for accompanying playing pianoorganguitarkeyboard or direct musical selections during designated regular and special worship services including accompany singing of hymns choruses and spiritual songs choral response anthems and special music that enhances the atmosphere of worship for the particular congregation The Musician will also accompany regular choir rehearsals playing the pianoorganguitarkeyboard andor direct accompaniment for choirworship team rehearsalsEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following Communicate with the chaplains priests songworship leaders and other musicians conducting the service to ensure a coordinated service of worship for the congregation Plan and coordinate all musical selections with the ChaplainPastor of the congregation or appropriate designated representative to select music in keeping with the theme of worship service Select for choirsolo presentation music that enhances the atmosphere of worship for the particular congregation as directed by the ChaplainPastor Coordinate andor provide music for all services and adjust tempo and style of choir selections to enhance the congregations ability to participate in worship as directed by the ChaplainPastor Provide music selections to the ChaplainPastor by the time designated for publication in worship service bulletins and coordination with other musical staff Musicians shall be required to play at any Chapel on Fort Bragg when directed Musicians shall be present at least 30 minutes prior to each mass or chapel service and 15 minutes before each rehearsal Musicians shall monitor all government provided instruments used and report requirements or repair or replacement Performs related or similar duties as required or assignedEducation andor Experience Required to be able to read and play traditional contemporary and new age music according to the religious services being rendered Each musician shall demonstrate musical proficiency on the pianokeyboard and on the electric organ if used as the primary instrument for leading worship Must be knowledgeable of and be able to apply liturgical and contemporary music norms of the CatholicProtestant tradition in preparation for worship andor Special Services for the specific Chapel tradition in which they will perform the fulfillments of this contract Musician shall be knowledgeable of and conversant with developments in CatholicProtestant music both liturgical and contemporary for the specific Chapel tradition of the congregation served by this contract Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a sense of diplomacy able to collaborate across marketing sales and internal thought-leaders Strong independent contributor and team playerJob Types Part-time ContractPay 6000 per hourBenefits Employee assistance program Employee discountSchedule Weekend availabilityEducation High school or equivalent PreferredWork Location One location
