Church Musician: Keyboardist/Organist or Drummer (Part-Time)

We are seeking a passionate and talented Part-Time Church Musician specializing as a Keyboardist, Organist, or Drummer to enrich our worship services through inspiring musical leadership. Duties

Lead and perform on keyboard or organ during weekly worship services, special events, and ceremonies
Collaborate with pastors and choir directors to select appropriate music that aligns with the church’s liturgy and themes
Rehearse regularly with vocalists and instrumentalists to ensure cohesive and polished performances
Assist in planning musical elements for holidays, weddings, funerals, and community events
Maintain and care for all musical instruments, ensuring they are tuned and in excellent condition
Support the development of the church’s music program by mentoring volunteers or choir members when needed
Incorporate elements of theater or dramatic presentation into musical performances to enhance engagement and spiritual impact

Requirements

Proficiency in keyboard, organ, or drum kit within a worship or live band setting
Ability to read lead sheets and chord charts; reading traditional notation is a plus
Experience playing in a church, gospel, or faith-based music context preferred
Ability to take musical direction and adapt fluidly during live worship services
Reliable, punctual, and committed to weekly Sunday service availability
Strong sense of musical sensitivity, teamwork, and collaboration with vocalists and instrumentalists
Familiarity with both traditional hymns and contemporary worship styles
A personal faith reflective of Christian values and commitment to worship ministry
Positive attitude, humility, and willingness to serve within a blended worship environment

Schedule/Compensation

Sundays: morning worship service(s)
Rehearsal praise team once a month and choir twice a month
Occasional special services (holidays, events) as needed
Competitive hourly/per-service compensation — commensurate with experience
