Job Summary: Outdoor Gather Space Service (OGS typically May-September timeframe) • In collaboration with the Cantor and pastors, plan the music for the OGS service • Play for the OGS services and lead the congregation in singing as appropriate • Set up and takedown of equipment as needed Handbells • Lead and direct the Adult Handbell Choir in weekly rehearsals and performances on Sundays as planned in collaboration with the pastoral staff and Cantor • Provide input for the development of budgets and purchase of handbell choir music supplies as needed • Ensure the maintenance and upkeep of the church’s bells and chimes and maintain an orderly library of handbell choir music • Help to recruit and train new members for the Handbell Choir through personal invitations and congregation communications Other Aspects • Work in collaboration with the Cantor to lead the music of the 8:30 AM service including playing for the service and/or directing the choir. • Participating in monthly planning meetings to select hymnody and liturgy for services • When the Cantor is not available, direct the choir at the 11:00 AM service and play organ as skills allow • Sing in 8:30 AM choir on a regular basis, and with 11:00 AM service for Festival Sundays and other occasional services • In collaboration with Cantor, communicate and coordinate with guest musicians, youth instrumentalists, etc.
