Church Musician (Organist)

St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church - in the heart of Spokane, Washington - is seeking a musician (organist) to play during our Sunday services, weekly at 9:30 am, special occasions, and for high holy days such as Holy Week and Christmas Eve! Our worship follows the liturgies of the Book of Common Prayer (Rite II) and our hymns are mostly selected from the Hymnal 1982, to be readily singable. The bishop of our diocese recently remarked upon a visit to St. Andrew’s that, “One thing I note every time I go there is that people are not afraid to sing, it is nice to hear a congregation lifting their voices in song!” There are typically four congregational hymns and two short service music pieces (Gloria and Sanctus). While the Liturgy Committee currently selects hymns, we are open to dialog on music selection.
