Church Organist / Music Director Christ Church Episcopal

The Music Minister is, in effect, a representative of the Church, and must possess the ability to make decisions on behalf of the parish when appropriate; be respectful of confidentiality; and work well with volunteers. The position is supervised by the Rector, working closely with all other staff and volunteers, supporting the mission of the parish by providing for the smooth functioning of choir, children’s music, worship music and congregational musical learning. This and all staff positions are subject to the general human resources policies of Christ Church. Additional Sundays off may be permissible in consultation with the clergy, however the responsibility for paying an acceptable substitute is the responsibility of the minister of music in such cases. However, sensitivity to the identity and mission of Christ Church is necessary for effectiveness in this role.
