Church Pianist/Organist

The Church pianist’s main responsibilities are to provide piano accompaniment for scheduled worship services and other activities/ worship opportunities that supplement the Church’s music ministry. Essential Duties: ● Provide high and consistent quality of piano/ organ accompaniment every Sunday at required times ● Support additional music ministry (e.g. church choir) ● Maintain an accurate account of piano/ organ needs and maintenance to Pastor/ church staff ● Pianist is responsible for communicating planned absences (preferably as soon as known) to allow for scheduling of a substitute pianist ○ Assist Pastor and church staff in finding a substitute if requested/ not available ○ Pianists are encouraged to help find a substitute pianist in case of scheduled accompaniments/ obligations. ● Classical piano and organ is provided The applicant is responsible for submitting their hours to the Church Treasurer by the 15th and the last day of each month to ensure timely payment. ● The Pianist/Organist is a part-time position and is not entitled to any employee benefit provided by PUMC.
