Job Summary
The Church Singer leads and supports music during worship services, helping create a welcoming, meaningful experience for the congregation. You’ll prepare and perform hymns and other religious music, collaborate with worship leaders and musicians, and adapt your singing to the service’s musical style. This is a paid position.
Duties
Rehearse and perform selected music for services, including hymns and other liturgical music.
Coordinate with worship leaders and musicians on song choices, arrangements, keys, and service timing.
Read sheet music, harmonize melodies, and contribute musical improvisation or composition when appropriate.
Your impact: Thoughtful, well-prepared performances help congregants participate in worship and connect with the service.
Support rehearsals and performances with instruments or audio tools as needed.
Skills
Required: Strong vocal ability, reading sheet music, music selection, and experience performing religious music.
Preferred: Musical liturgical knowledge; concert or theater performance experience; ability to harmonize, improvise, compose, and blend music genres.
Instrumental skills are welcome, including guitar, drums, organ, piano, or other musical instruments.
Familiarity with a digital audio workstation (DAW) and acoustic treatment is an asset.
Pay: Up to $120.00 per day
