Classical Music Production Assistant

Job Title: Production Assistant (part time) Organization: YOSA (Youth Orchestras of San Antonio) REPORTS TO: Director of Student Experience and Production Manager SUPERVISES: Contractors, Interns, Volunteers JOB SUMMARY: The Student Experience team is a dynamic, high output team that is passionate about changing kid’s lives through music and building relationships with the YOSA community. The Production Assistant is responsible for administrative and production support to the Production Manager and Director of Student Experience, ensuring effective production of all youth orchestra events. This position requires integrity and confidentiality, high level of customer service, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively. Duties and Responsibilities Rehearsal and Concert Production - Assist with day-to-day operations related to weekly rehearsals. - Assist in YOSA production for concerts, recitals, camp, tour, chamber, Hire-a-YOSA, and cross-departmental projects including but not limited to logistics, communication, transportation, and production-related paperwork. - Manage day-of volunteers and interns in YOSA productions. - Provide support to YOSA Orchestra conductors, coaches, and section leaders. Administrative - Manage the maintenance and implementation of program policies including attendance and school music program participation. - Assist Production Manager in management of the YOSA music library and inventory. - Collaborate with the Student Experience coworkers on departmental projects, including but not limited to enrollment, auditions, reporting, database work, and data collection. - Provide general administrative support to Student Experience team. - Become fluent in technologies used by YOSA staff. · Other duties as assigned by Director of Student Experience. Requirements The successful candidate shall have a high school diploma or equivalent. The successful candidate may be in process or have completed a bachelor’s degree in music education, performance, arts management, or a related field. Evening and weekend hours will be required. Team lifting of heavy objects. In-depth knowledge of symphonic music, music education, and percussion equipment is a plus. Schedule Availabilty Required schedule availability on Sunday afternoon and evening, and Tuesday business hours. Other evening and weekend hours may be required. Compensation $15-20 per hour dependent on experience.
