Concert Hall and Recital Manager_Full Time (32hrs/wk)

Job Summary: The Concert Hall and Recitals Manager is responsible for all aspects of the concert hall use as well as any other room use by rental events or CSMA events as requested. The manager is responsible for creating a vibrant and relevant Community Concert Series, managing CSMA’s rental facilities program and is expected to assist with any CSMA event as requested. ● Develop and maintain a database of potential artists ● Book artists and negotiate concert details and fees ● Manage faculty concert proposals and selection process ● Generate artist agreements and process payments for performances ● Act as an artist liaison, communicate with artists to successfully facilitate the needs for their concerts ● Oversee production and operations of each concert and ensure all the technical and hospitality requirements are satisfied ● Working closely with Marketing and Development, provide materials for grant applications/reports and concert advertisements ● Provide frontline customer service to concert visitors ● Conduct audience surveys and generate reports for grants ● Manage licensing reports and payments - address/troubleshoot any licensing related issues Facilities Rentals - 30% ● Manage the facility rental business including, developing client relationships, scheduling and hosting venue tours, overseeing rental application and approval process, and booking rental events on the CSMA event calendar ● Efficiently communicate with renters and enforce rental policies ● Generate rental agreements ● Working closely with Finance, track rental payments and event insurance certificates and generate a monthly revenue projection report ● Schedule event staff for each rental event ● Communicate technical needs to the event staff and oversee production of rental events ● Troubleshoot any rental related issues including schedule conflicts, parking issues, and accident reports CSMA School Events - 20% ● Working closely with the music school staff, book the music school’s Tateuchi Hall events on the CSMA event calendar including student recitals, music classes’ end-of-semester concerts, and workshops ● Schedule/assign event staff for each event and communicate all the technical details to the staff Concert Hall and Equipment Management - 10% ● Schedule a monthly piano tuning service and process payments ● Oversee inventory management ● Working closely with Facility Manager, oversee overall maintenance of the hall and equipment Music in Action - 10% ● Book musicians for in-school concerts and negotiate fees and details ● Generate performance agreements and process payments ● Effectively communicate with school administrators and CSMA’s in-school program staff to schedule one fall and one spring concerts for each elementary school in MV Whisman School District ● Act as artist liaison and oversee concert production at each school ● Provide concert posters and lesson plans and distribute them to each school The position requires overseeing and attending production and operations of community concerts and rentals which are held on evenings and weekends. Experience: ● Minimum 3-5 years experience managing a performing arts venue, production or similar. ● High level of comfort with public speaking ● Competent computer skills, particularly MS Office and GSuite ABOUT THE COMMUNITY SCHOOL OF MUSIC AND ARTS Founded in 1968, the Community School of Music and Arts is Northern California’s largest non-profit provider of arts education programs.
