Concert producers on the Performance Operations team manage performance-related details for Vivo Performing Arts at a variety of venues across Boston and Cambridge. Performance Operations staff create a performance experience for audiences and artists on behalf of Vivo Performing Arts consistent with organizational values and goals. Title, reporting structure, and supervisory responsibilities will be determined for the position based on the candidate’s previous experience, educational background, and the existing talent pool. Directly manages technical and logistical details for a select portfolio of Vivo Performing Arts presentations and occasional special projectsServes as liaison between venue management and artist representation via thoughtful and proactive communication to facilitate all performance-related requests, including equipment, rehearsal, travel, backstage, and hospitality needsSupervises load-in/out, work calls, rehearsals, and manages stage crew at performance venuesUses in-house database, Artifax Event Online, to create production schedules and itinerariesMaintains a comfortable and safe environment for artists and participants in related eventsManages relationships and logistics pertaining to recordings, CD sales, and signings Monitors ticketing needs for artists, agents, and department Hires, supervises, and directly responsible for assigned contract-based production managers and technical support staff Supports community initiatives and public performance projects (free, large-scale public events), including Let’s Dance Boston in September 2026Works with Community Engagement staff to coordinate planning, execution, and reporting for occasional local community work of touring artists; supports Neighborhood Arts concert operations when additional staffing is neededMaintains regular contact with colleagues and other department members to support cross-departmental projects that have artist and performance implications, including, but not limited to: program book copy and marketing emails, special events, educational and audience engagement initiatives, advancement initiatives, and staff meetings )Proficiency in performance rider interpretation, including the negotiation of tour requirements to fit budget constraints and creative problem solvingStrong knowledge of performing arts required; experience in classical music, contemporary music, jazz, dance, and/or public artKnowledge of IATSE contracts and experience working in union theatrical environments a plusDetail-oriented self-starter who can handle multiple projects at a time and excel in fast-paced environment.
