Development Manager

The Ellis Marsalis Center for Music (EMCM) is seeking an experienced Development Manager to coordinate the organization’s fundraising efforts. The Development Manager will provide oversight of EMCM’s fundraising efforts and will have the primary responsibility for managing the Center’s donor database and record management system; recording and reporting on gifts and pledges received and anticipated; organizing EMCM’s annual appeals and fundraising efforts; providing guidance and support in donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts; and supporting donor and prospect events hosted by EMCM. In addition, the Development Manager will work closely with the Executive Director to support the management and oversight of projects supported by grants from national funders, as well as assist in stewarding these grants by providing reports on EMCM’s progress with these programs. The Development Manager has the following key responsibilities: • Build and execute an annual fundraising plan for EMCM, which includes designing strategies for retaining and attracting support from individuals, corporations, and foundations, developing and implementing an annual appeal program, and developing reports to inform EMCM leadership and board on progress to meeting fundraising goals. • Maintain an accurate and robust donor and prospect record management structure within EMCM's database management system (Salesforce), as well as oversee monthly reporting and the grants management pipeline and calendar which includes prospect research, proposal writing, and reporting requirements.
