Director of Academy Strings Faculty

In alignment with CIM’s mission, vision, and institutional learning goals, this individual will teach assigned applied violin or cello students in the Conservatory and Academy (pre-college) and, occasionally, the Joint Music Program (in partnership with Case Western Reserve University). Candidates will demonstrate a proven record of recruiting and teaching outstanding students in a conservatory, university, and/or pre-collegiate or community music school, experience guiding students along their stages of development, and a noted reputation as a performer. • Collaborate with the Admission staff to develop recruitment strategies and audition standards and lead the Academy string faculty in recruiting students at various stages of development, from beginner to advanced. • Empower each student in your studio to perform with technical prowess and informed, compelling artistry in pursuit of a top echelon music career or, for Academy students, in pursuit of study at a top collegiate program, by: • Comprehensively and sequentially guiding them through their course of applied study during their degree or program at CIM. • Familiarity with trends and best practices in higher education and musical pedagogy, with a firmly developed personal approach to teaching and student development.
