Description - The Director of Bands is responsible for the orchestration and coordination of all facets of band programs that attend student growth and learning, spirit enhancement, and university representation. With specific responsibility for the marching band, the Director functions as a major actor in recruitment and enrollment management. Models professional and personal behaviors that further the interest of the band program and the University. Qualifications - At least five years of demonstrated success as a head band director and a master's degree; preference will be given to: 1) applicants with sufficient mastery to teach an applied music course, 2) skill in arranging music, and 3) capacity to use technology (software) to arrange and plan performances. Ability to schedule and execute all phases of performance preparation that attends the needs of students and the ultimate performance product.
