Director of Creative Arts

Good Shepherd is a historically Lutheran congregation that is Holy Spirit filled and centered on Jesus Christ. With these goals in mind, the Creative Arts Director is first responsible for planning and producing up to three weekly worship services which feature diverse musical style and content, as well as special events, holiday services, and memorial services. Additionally, the Creative Arts Director is responsible for: • Leading Good Shepherd’s technical team which provides sound, lighting, and video reinforcement campuswide, and for audio/visual productions • Continuing the growth of a creative culture within Good Shepherd • Managing “GS Studios”, our in-house audio and visual recording facilities. Skill Requirements: • A mentor and spiritual leader to creatives, coaching them and praying for them to become more effective and mature disciples of Jesus Christ • Worship leader who responds appropriately to the move of the Holy Spirit • Worship planner who clearly structures worship services that allow for the movement of the Holy Spirit • Knowledge of current worship songs and hymns, and liturgies • Ability to conduct and lead diverse musical ensembles in rehearsal and performance • Keyboardist, guitarist, and/or lead vocalist who reads, and arranges music tailored to the talents and capabilities of the available musicians • Technologist who employs common production tools (i.e. MIDI, Planning Center, MS Office, Finale, Proclaim, LogicPro, ProTools, DaVinci Resolve, in-ear monitors, click tracks, and pre-recorded tracks) • Producer of audio and video content • Networker skilled at connecting and developing relationships both inside and outside of GS Church • Prepare detailed production plans, assemble media required for production, schedule and coordinate creative resources, and support equipment setup for services and events, as required • Schedule, lead, and develop worship ensembles, recruit and audition staff and volunteers, conduct weekly rehearsals, and provide ongoing training and regular evaluation • Communicate schedules, plans, expectations, and arrangements to all necessary parties in a timely manner • Oversee a technology team of audio engineers, visual operators, media and lighting technicians • Provide financial management for worship, audio/video productions, and creative community initiatives, including managing ministry budgets for hiring ensembles, directors, musicians, technicians, acquisition of music resources, equipment, software and licenses • Oversee maintenance and care of worship ministry assets, including musical instruments, sound equipment, music library, and production technology • Set annual goals and evaluate attainment • Direct and manage the budgets, including annual forecasting, approving payroll and timecards and documenting credit card expenditures in a professional manner
