Laurel Heights United Methodist Church in San Antonio, TX, is seeking a part-time Director of Music to nurture the spiritual growth of the congregation through leadership in music ministries. Responsibilities Duties include, but are not limited to, directing the Chancel Choir and Handbell Choir; selecting music for worship (including anthems and hymns); creating and implementing musical, educational, and worship programs in collaboration with Pastoral staff, and the Young Family and Youth ministries; maintaining the instruments and choral library; maintaining the music budget; and organizing and supervising all people and events related to musical activities in the Church. Qualifications A successful candidate will have 5+ years of experience conducting choirs; a collegiate degree in music; good planning and organization skills; experience managing and directing volunteers; able to communicate well with individuals, groups, and committees; and a love for Christ and people, with a strong positive experience in the Christian church and a desire to serve.
