Director of Music

Saint Giles Presbyterian Church is seeking a part-time Director of Music to serve as an integral part of our worship ministry. Responsibilities • Lead worship in collaboration with music and worship staff, including pre-worship rehearsals • Plan and facilitate weekly choir rehearsals (ordinarily 60–90 minutes on Wednesday evenings) • Assist with special worship services including Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Christmas Eve • Maintain the music library, order music, and oversee instrument maintenance within the annual budget • Maintain records of hymns and anthems for licensing purposes • Respond to emails and voicemails within 24 hours and update the online worship planning document weekly • Attend planning meetings and collaborate with the Pastor and staff toward a unified worship style • Recruit and coordinate volunteer and guest musicians • Secure substitute leadership when absent Areas of Leadership Qualifications • Must be at least 23 years of age with 3 references and willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening • Bachelor's degree in music preferred • Experience planning and leading musical rehearsals and worship • Experience working with children, youth, and adults • Experience working alongside volunteer musicians • Familiarity with congregational settings preferred • Committed to fostering an ever-growing Christian faith Salary: $15,000–$17,000 per year based on experience.
