Director of Music and Organist

Job Description The Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Albuquerque, NM, within the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, is seeking a full-time Director of Music and Organist. The role involves working with cantors, adult and children's choirs to develop our sacred music program and oversee all liturgical music. The Director must lead the congregation in singing hymns, Mass parts, and chant, including solos during Mass, with an emphasis on incorporating chant as often as possible in an a cappella setting. Responsibilities include overseeing, evaluating, and coordinating all sacred music, musicians, and choirs in collaboration with the pastor, recruiting and developing cantors and choir members, holding regular choir practices, arranging music preparation before each Mass, participating in parish staff meetings, and maintaining good relationships with ministers.
