Responsibilities: - Lead and direct music for two worship services (contemporary praise music service and a traditional service with hymns and choir anthems), the Christmas... Eve service, special concerts (contatas for example); also regular rehearsals - Select appropriate music repertoire for each service (the praise set for the contemporary service and the choir anthem for the traditional service) - Collaborate with the organist/pianist and praise team and choir members to create engaging performances which give all glory to God - Provide guidance and mentorship to praise team members and choir members, helping them develop their skills and musicality - Conduct regular rehearsals to ensure musical proficiency - Coordinate with the Senior Pastor, the Director of Children's Ministry (for special occasions) and the Worship Committee for the church - Attend the Worship Committee and occasional Worship Planning meetings related to the music program Requirements: - A professed Christian who adheres to the inerrancy of Scripture and desires to follow Jesus and give glory to God in all that he or she does - Bachelor's degree or minor degree in Music (though experience in the role would also qualify) - Proven experience as a Music Director or similar role - Vocal proficiency - Strong knowledge of choral conducting techniques - Excellent leadership and communication skills - Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of musicians and performers and varying levels of ability - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail As a Music Director, you will have the opportunity to lead and shape the musical direction of the church and give glory to God in the process.
