Director of Music Ministry

Christ United Fellowship Orlando (PCA) is seeking a part-time male music ministry leader (i.e., worship leader) who is passionate about worshiping God and helping others do the same. This part-time position (15-20 hours/week; including Sunday mornings) includes a negotiable salary based on experience and training.

Our ideal candidate would have strong vocal skills and the ability to develop others. The ability to play a Hammond B3 organ is a Plus.

Christ United Fellowship Orlando is a PCA church whose first public worship service began in 2015 in Orlando’s South of Downtown (SODO) area. We are a gospel-centered, diverse church. We are a place where anyone is welcome to experience and share in the love of Christ. We desire that everyone know Christ and become more like Him! We sing a mix of gospel, modern, and classical hymns, as well as contemporary songs with rich theological content and traditional hymns. Song Selection and Planning—40%

Create a music environment that draws the congregation into a spirit of worship.
Talk with the Senior Pastor to develop a vision and worship style for the music team.
Develops song lists based on sermon topics, church worship style, and diverse cultures of the congregation, utilizing creativity to combine classical, traditional, contemporary, gospel, and emerging Christian music
Work with the Pastor, leadership, and music team to plan weekly worship services.
Choose songs and musical arrangements that follow CUF’s musical philosophy.
Organize and manage a repertoire of songs using the Planning Center App and assemble music books.
Teach and introduce new songs in coordination with the Pastor and church leadership.
Schedule staff and volunteers for services, including special services
Coordinate lyrics and screen presentations with the Director of Media and production teams
Coordinate youth participation with the Director of Children’s Ministries
Oversee equipment inventory, restock, and handling
Arrange for temporary replacement during sickness, holidays, or other leave of absence.
Perform other duties as needed or assigned.

Song Leading—20%

Lead the congregation vocally in worship on Sunday mornings or during special services as requested.
Provides sheet music and tablature for musicians
Directs and conducts musicians and singers during worship services
Facilitate involvement of additional song leaders and ensemble vocalists
Exhibit ability in instrumentation and chord chart utilization
Assist with liturgical transitions as assigned by church leadership
Hosts concerts or musical training. Coordinates the church’s efforts to periodically host concerts by artists representing a variety of musical styles.

Leading Rehearsals—20%

Facilitate rehearsals with staff and volunteers
Lead sound checks with the entire music team before service

Team Training —10%

Devote yourself to developing singers and musicians musically and emphasizing spiritual formation.
Empower and encourage instrumentalists, vocalists, and production team members to thrive.
Take initiative in recruiting and training members of the music team
Meet with team members yearly, whether individually or collectively, to review, evaluate, assess, and plan next steps
Care for staff and volunteers who are serving with bands and production teams.

Meetings - 10%

Reports to and is supervised by the Senior Pastor.
Meet with the Senior Pastor, Musicians, and Volunteers from the congregation.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25,000.00 - $28,000.00 per year
