Director of Organizing Based in Los Angeles, CA (with the ability to travel within the U.S. and Canada) Purpose: • Create, develop, and lead the Organizing Department of the AFM Local 47 to plan and implement internal and external organizing campaigns in various sectors of professional music locally, while working with the International Union on unionwide campaigns of strategic significance in Southern California. • Plan and execute AFM organizing-focused education initiatives to embed the culture of organizing in Local 47. • Knowledge of principles and practices of union organizing and an excellent knowledge of labor law. • Able to work independently while coordinating efforts with national and local leaders.
