Director of Sacred Music (Full Time)

Full-Time Position (40 Hours/Week) About The Role Prepare and lead music (including cantoring as needed) for:Two weekday MassesThree weekend MassesSpecial liturgies including Holy Days, Stations of the Cross, Eucharistic Adoration, Penance Services, and other parish celebrationsPlay our 1997 Berghaus pipe organ (1,959 pipes, 37 ranks, 3 manuals) and Yamaha C3 ES grand pianoDirect and rehearse the Adult Choir, Children's Choir, and Men's ScholaRecruit, mentor, and develop cantors, choir members, and instrumentalistsPlan seasonal and sacramental music from the breadth of the Church's sacred musical traditionMeet with families to plan music for weddings and funerals (separate compensation provided)Maintain the parish music library, instruments, and music resourcesPrepare worship aids to encourage congregational participationParticipate in parish staff meetings and collaborate with the parish team in support of our mission Proficiency in organ, piano, choral conducting, and vocal leadershipKnowledge of Catholic liturgy and sacred musicAn appreciation for both the Church's musical heritage and quality contemporary Catholic musicA collaborative leader who enjoys building and growing parish music ministriesBasic Diploma in Music Ministry from Sacred Heart Major Seminary (or equivalent), or willingness to obtain one during employmentA strong understanding of the Ministry of Presence and a desire to serve the parish community Lead a well-established and respected music ministry.Play an exceptional 1997 Berghaus pipe organ alongside a Yamaha C3 ES grand piano.Help shape the future of sacred music in a growing parish community.Competitive salary, additional compensation for weddings and funerals, and opportunities for professional and spiritual growth.
