The Director of the Music Program will be an experienced university-level music educator responsible for overseeing the teach-out of music majors. This role focuses on instructional responsibilities, student advising, and coordination of the remaining music program operations. Duties and Responsibilities • Teach 18 credit hours over the academic year • Advise remaining music students • Oversee music facilities including classrooms, practice suites, computer lab, and partial oversight of Terry Concert Hall • Coordinate course offerings with the Dean’s Office and Registrar’s Office • Work with faculty to schedule recitals, concerts, and use of practice spaces • Coordinate with the Office Associate to prepare payroll and contracts for collaborative musicians, contract musicians, and technical support staff Required Skills and Abilities • Effective written and verbal communication skills • Understanding of a NASM-accredited music curriculum • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Argos, and Blackboard • Experience teaching in a NASM-accredited music program This is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and/or skills required for this position.
