Divisional Music and Gospel Arts Coordinator@ DHQ

Job Objective: The Divisional Music & Gospel Arts Coordinator assists the Divisional Music & Gospel Arts Director (DMGAD) in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the music and gospel arts programs in The Salvation Army Kansas & Western Missouri Division. Education: Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Music; music education preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education Skills/Abilities: • Affective • A strong personal commitment to and understanding of the full mission of The Salvation Army • A passion for music and gospel arts ministry, both outreach and internal development, as an essential part of the church • Behavioral • An interpersonal style that engages people from diverse backgrounds and builds understanding and trust • A self-starter who has the demonstrated ability to effectively lead and manage projects, priorities, and programs in a constantly changing environment • An ability to anticipate and respond to issues in a positive and timely manner • A demonstrated commitment to providing internal and external excellent customer service; anticipating and responding to the needs of clients, employees, and administration • A communication style that is responsive and fosters positive team relationships • Cognitive • A knowledge of music including performance, education, history, and theory • An in-depth knowledge of music ministry, preferably within the context of The Salvation Army's history, mission, and structure • An understanding of other expressions of music and gospel at both a theoretical and practical level • Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially in public presentations Physical Requirements: This position is required to do light physical work period in order to successfully perform the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to use instruments and equipment needed in a music program.
